About Me

A man sitting on a red velvet sofa in a dimly lit room with vintage wallpaper, next to a small round table with a glass and a folded paper, and a framed sign that reads 'Thompson for Sheriff' with a sheriff's badge in the background.

As my graduation from the University of Texas at Austin’s RTF program neared, I literally dove into film production as the Chief Dumpster Diver in the Art Department of Richard Linklater’s SubUrbia. After graduating, I loaded up a trailer and drove straight to LA where I spent three years as a PA on everything from the lowest-budget indie films to massive Hollywood blockbusters, ending my time on the west coast working as an Office PA on South Park (IMDB).

Returning to Austin during a filmmaking boom, I continued to PA. Probably the best job I had during that time was serving as Sir Michael Caine’s assistant on Miss Congeniality (he became Sir Michael during production).

I eventually found my way into Location Scouting and Managing films, TV shows, and commercials. My work during this period as a Location Scout and Manager on Linklater’s critically acclaimed Boyhood, which was recognized at the Oscars®, was particularly rewarding.

I learned enough along the way to start Line Producing, leading to work on several U.S. Air Force productions with local production company Action Figure.

Recruited to GSD&M by then-Head of Production and mentor Karen Jacobs, I began to work as Agency Producer on the U.S. Air Force account and continued to do so for fifteen years on contract and eventually as a staffer.

Movie stars and film sets were replaced by Airmen and fighter jets and, later, Guardians, rockets, and actual stars. As an aviation and space geek, I have truly enjoyed this work and it has been an honor to help tell the story of our military members.

My roots in indie filmmaking combined with my tenure as an agency producer as well as early training on AI have given me a unique lens on content creation. I am looking forward to what’s next!
